Synopsis

Two ongoing challenges that faces many of the DOE Meteorological Programs and Consequence Assesment/Planning Basis/Safety Basis programs throughout the complex are allowing workers to get back to work after thunderstorms and  calculating surface roughness values for dispersion modeling.

Best Practices

Improvements in environmental data, communications and better understanding of the basic science has lead to improvements in support the Atmospheric Technology Group at SRNL provides for customers at SRS.    The improved methodologies will be compared t the previous methods, and the improvements will be highlighted.

Lessons Learned

This presentation is focused around recent ongoing discussions in recent DMSC meetings, and the improvements SRS is implimenting.
