Technical Basis
A review of limited sources identified rat oral LD50 toxicity data that was evaluated using factors in Tables 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4. Although this study identified an LD50, only 2 of 6 rats died during the study and there is limited additional statistical data to support the assertion of an LD50; therefore, analysts evaluated the reported toxicity as an LDLo and it was selected as the TEEL-3 basis. TEEL-1 and -2 values were derived according to Table 3.5.
• PAC-1 = TEEL-1 = TEEL-2/11
• PAC-2 = TEEL-2 = TEEL-3/6
• PAC-3 = TEEL-3 = Rat oral LDLo (2000 mg/kg)
This review generated PAC values inconsistent with Rev. 29A. The Rev. 29A TEEL-3 basis was a health hazard rating (HHR=3), while the current TEEL-3 basis is a rat oral LDLo for diphenyl chlorosphosphate. The TEEL-2 and TEEL-1 methodology is the same, with differences due to the change in TEEL-3.
