Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified exposure limits (Level of Concern (LOC), IDLH (1990), TLV-TWA) and several toxicity data of varying species and routes. Data sources were selected according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. The IDLH (1990) was selected as the TEEL-3 basis. The LOC was selected as the TEEL-2. The TLV-TWA was selected as the TEEL-1 basis.
• TEEL-1 = TLV-TWA x 3 (0.05 mg/m3)
• TEEL-2 = LOC (0.0005 g/m3)
• TEEL-3 = IDLH (1990, 5 mg/m3)
This review generated TEEL values that are consistent with Rev. 29A*.
