Technical Basis
A review of available sources did not identify exposure limits, acute toxicity data, or GHS health hazard ratings for gallium. Reported GHS health hazard ratings (H302, oral Category 4; H314, skin corrosion Category 1) indicate a low to high-level health hazard, approximately equivalent to an HHR=3 between HHR=1 (TEEL-3=79 mg/m3 and 7900 mg/m3, respectively). Considering this, the PNOS TLV-TWA was selected as the TEEL-1 basis (PNOS, Section 3.5.2). TEEL-3 and TEEL-2 values were derived according to Table 3.5, resulting in a TEEL-3 value within the range indicated by GHS health hazards.
• PAC-1 = TEEL-1 = TLV-TWA (PNOS, 10 mg/m3) x 3
• PAC-2 = TEEL-2 = TEEL-1 x 11
• PAC-3 = TEEL-3 = TEEL-2 x 6
This review generated PAC values consistent with Rev. 29A*.
