Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified exposure limits (IDLH, LOC, OEL-STEL, TWAs) and toxicity data for several species and routes. Data sources were selected according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. The toxicity data reported was not acute, therefore it was not considered for TEEL development. The TLV-TWA was selected as the TEEL-1 basis. The LOC was considered as a TEEL-2; however, this resulted in a TEEL-2 < TEEL-1. Instead, TEEL-2 and TEEL-3 values were derived according to Table 3.5.
• TEEL-1 = TLV-TWA (0.2 mg/m3) x 3
• TEEL-2 = TEEL-1 x 11
• TEEL-3 = TEEL-2 x 6
This review generated TEEL values that are consistent with Rev. 29A*.
