Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified the following: AEGL values for ammonia (CASRN: 7664-41-7). It was determined that these are appropriate as exposure limits for ammonium hydroxide, as the primary inhalation hazard from this chemical.
TEEL-1 = AEGL-1 (ammonia, CASRN: 7446-41-7)
TEEL-2 = AEGL-2 (ammonia, CASRN: 7446-41-7)
TEEL-3 = AEGL-3 (ammonia, CASRN: 7446-41-7)
This review generated TEEL values that are inconsistent with those in Rev. 29A. The Rev. 29A and current bases are consistent (ammonia AEGLs), however the Rev. 29A AEGL values were molecular weight adjusted. According to Section 3.2.2, AEGL should not be adjusted, therefore the current TEELs are the unadjusted AEGLs.
