Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified a WEEL-TWA and acute toxicity data (LC50, LD50) for several routes and species. Data sources were selected according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. Toxicity data were selected according to type of exposure, species, and route according to the hierarchies stated in Sections 3.3.1, 3.3.2, and evaluated using factors in Tables 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4. The WEEL-TWA was selected as the TEEL-1 basis. Analysts did not identify sources for TEEL-2 development; therefore, the TEEL-2 value was derived according to Table 3.5. In addition to criteria already listed, analysts also considered the requirement that “A TEEL-1 is never less than three times the published chemical-specific TWA” defined in Section 3.4.2 when evaluating their TEEL-3 bases. Considering this, analysts selected the rat intraperitoneal LD50 as the TEEL-3 basis.

• TEEL-2 = TEEL-3/6
• TEEL-3 = Rat intraperitoneal LD50 (300 mg/kg)
This review generated a TEEL-1 consistent with Rev. 29A and TEEL-3 and TEEL-2 values that are inconsistent with Rev. 29A. The Rev. 29A TEEL-3 basis was a rat LC50 that was reviewed and not selected because it did not report adverse effects (no effects or death). Instead, analysts selected a rat intraperitoneal LD50 as the TEEL-3 basis. The Rev. 29A TEEL-2 basis was a mouse TDLo not found during the review; instead, analysts derived the TEEL-2 from the TEEL-3 (Table 3.5). The Rev. 29A and current TEEL-1 values, source, and methodology are consistent.
