Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified a MAK-STEL, AEGL-2, and AEGL-3 for this chemical. The AEGLs were selected as the TEEL-2 and TEEL-3 due to their priority among the emergency exposure limits (Section 1). AEGL values in units mg/m3 are reported as published in the technical support table S-1, per handbook guidance (Section 3.4.7.2). Due to insufficient data, an AEGL-1 is not recommended; therefore, the MAK-STEL was selected as the TEEL-1.
• TEEL-1 = MAK-STEL
• TEEL-2 = AEGL-2
• TEEL-3 = AEGL-3
This review generated TEEL-1 and TEEL-2 values inconsistent with Rev. 29A. The Rev. 29A TEEL-1 basis was a MAK-TWA, while the recommended TEEL-1 is a higher priority MAK-STEL. The TEEL-2 and TEEL-3 methodology remain consistent; the minor difference in the reported TEEL-2 value in units mg/m3 may be due to conversion and rounding of the value, instead of use of the source value.
