Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified the following: occupational exposure data TLV-TWA and IDLH values (1990 IDLH value = 1994 IDLH value). Data sources were selected according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1 and used to calculate TEEL values. The IDLH was selected as the TEEL-3. The TEEL-2 was derived according to Table 3.5. The TLV-TWA was selected as the TEEL-1 basis.
• TEEL-1 = TLV-TWA x 3 (0.5 mg/m3)
• TEEL-2 = TEEL-3/6
• TEEL-3 = IDLH (50 mg/m3) (1990 and 1994)
This review generated TEEL values that are consistent with Rev 29A.
