A review of available data sources identified the following: TDLo and LD50 (Rat, Rabbit, Mouse) exposures for dermal, oral, and intraperitoneal routes. Species and route are ranked according to the preferences stated in Section 3.3.2, and the data source was evaluated according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. The rat, oral LD50 was selected to estimate a TEEL-3 because it was the most preferred by rank the most recent source. Although a TDLo is the preferred method for calculating a TEEL-2, it was not used due to the more conservative value generated from the TEEL-3 estimate. For these reasons, a TEEL-2 and TEEL-1 were calculated from the TEEL-3 value, according to Table 3.5.

This review generated TEEL values more conservative than those published in Rev. 29A. The current TEEL recommendation uses the same toxicity species, route, and method (rat oral LD50) than Rev. 29A, but the reported value is lower than the previous basis.
