Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified the following: TLV-TWA, Level of Concern, and IDLH exposure limits and rat toxicity data (LC50, LD50). These data sources were selected according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. The 1990 IDLH was selected as the TEEL-3, the LOC for the TEEL-2, and the TLV-TWA as the TEEL-1 basis.
• TEEL-1 = TLV-TWA (0.85 mg/m3) x 3
• TEEL-2 = LOC (20 mg/m3)
• TEEL-3 = IDLH (1990, 200 mg/m3)
There are no changes to the prior and recommended TEEL results. The previous Rev. 29 method to derive TEEL-1 was noted as TEEL-2/11, which was a typo.
