Technical Basis
Limited toxicity data is available for this chemical. Based on species preferability and limit comparability, an LD50 rat value is chosen for TEEL-3 development. An oral exposure route is assumed, as none is listed. A TEEL-2 was derived from TEEL-3 using the fill gap adjustment factors described in Table 3.52. A PEL-TWA exposure limit was found for TEEL-1, which is preferable to using the fill gap adjustment factors.
• TEEL-1 = PEL-TWA x 3 (5 mg/m3)
• TEEL-2 = TEEL-3/6
• TEEL-3 = Estimated from rat, oral LD50 (3200 mg/kg)
Previous TEEL estimates used a Health Hazard Rating (HHR) of 2 for TEEL development. Using toxicity data is preferable for TEEL development, however in this case, similar TEEL values to Rev. 29A were obtained.
