Technical Basis
A review of limited available data sources identified the following: LD50 toxicity data for oral exposure. This source was evaluated using factors in Tables 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4 and was the basis for the TEEL-3 calculation. TEEL-2 and TEEL-1 values were derived according to Table 3.5.
• TEEL-1 = TEEL-2/11
• TEEL-2 = TEEL-3/6
• TEEL-3 = Rat oral LD50 (430 mg/kg)
This review generated TEEL values that are more conservative than those found in Rev. 29A. In Rev. 29A the TEEL-3 basis was an IDLH (1990) for fluorides and that was MW-adjusted, however this review’s proposed data is derived directly from the compound's acute toxicity data.
