Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified a LOC and IDLH (1990) for soluble thallium (CASRN: 7440-28-0). Data sources were selected according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. The IDLH (1990) was selected as the TEEL-3 basis and a compound adjustment factor was applied (Section 3.2.2). The LOC was selected as the TEEL-2. The TEEL-1 value was derived according to Table 3.5.
• TEEL-1 = TEEL-2/11
• TEEL-2 = LOC (0.002 g/m3)
• TEEL-3 = MW-adjusted IDLH (1990, thallium (soluble compounds), CASRN: 7440-28-0, 20 mg/m3)
This review generated TEEL values that are consistent with Rev. 29A*.
