A review of available sources identified the following: rat oral LD50, mouse intraperitoneal LD50 and rat LC50 acute toxicity data. Data sources were selected according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. Toxicity data were selected according to type of exposure, species, and route according to the hierarchies stated in Sections 3.3.1, 3.3.2, and evaluated using factors in Tables 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4. Inhalation exposures were scaled to 60-minute equivalents using the ten Berge equation (Section 3.3.4). Although the rat LC50 (2200 mg/m3/2H) data is the most preferred of the available data, the source was not listed on the HazMap website and therefore could not be used. The rat oral LD50, however, resulted in a similar TEEL-3 value to the LC50 dose (77 mg/m3), and was selected as the TEEL-3 basis. TEEL-1 and TEEL-2 values were derived according to Table 3.5.

This review generated TEEL values that are less conservative and therefore inconsistent with Rev. 29A. The Rev. 29A TEEL-3 basis was a mouse intraperitoneal LD50 (different than the one located in this review), however the selected data is a more preferred species (rat) and route (oral).
