Technical Basis
Toluene-d8 is a deuterated form of toluene. A review of available sources did not identify acute toxicity data or exposure limits for toluene-d8. Instead, exposure limits for toluene (AEGLs; CARSRN: 108-88-3) were evaluated for TEEL development. The AEGLs were selected as the TEELs due to their priority among the emergency exposure limits (Section 1).
• TEEL-1 = AEGL-1 (toluene, CASRN: 108-88-3)
• TEEL-2 = AEGL-2 (toluene, CASRN: 108-88-3)
• TEEL-3 = AEGL-3 (toluene, CASRN: 108-88-3)
This review generated TEEL values consistent with Rev. 29A*. Note: The AEGL-3 values require “safety considerations against the hazard(s) of explosion(s)” (≥10% LEL).
