Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified the following: mouse intraperitoneal LD50 and mouse oral LDLo toxicity data, and IDLH (1990) for the elemental component arsenic (CASRN: 7440-38-2). Data sources were selected according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. Toxicity data were selected according to type of exposure, species, and route according to the hierarchies stated in Sections 3.3.1, 3.3.2, and evaluated using factors in Tables 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4. The most preferred exposure, mouse oral LDLo, was selected as the TEEL-3 basis as it was acquired for the chemical of interest and does not require weight adjustment. TEEL-1 and TEEL-2 values were calculated according to Table 3.5.

This review generated TEEL values that are inconsistent with Rev. 29A. The Rev. 29A TEEL-3 basis was a molecular-weight adjusted IDLH (1990) for arsenic; however, this review found and used toxicity data for the chemical interest, which resulted in comparable, but lower, TEEL values.
