Technical Basis
A review of limited sources identified exposure limits for tungsten (CASRN: 744-33-7): TWAs (PEL, REL, TLV) and STEL (PEL, REL). Data sources were selected according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. The PEL-STEL was selected as the TEEL-1 and a compound adjustment factor was applied (Section 3.2.2). TEEL-3 and TEEL-2 values were derived according to Table 3.5.
• TEEL-1 = MW-adjusted PEL-STEL (tungsten, CASRN: 744-337-7, 10 mg/m3)
• TEEL-2 = TEEL-1 x 11
• TEEL-3 = TEEL-2 x 6
This review generated TEEL-2 and TEEL-1 values consistent with Rev. 29A. The Rev. 29A and current TEEL-3 were derived using the same methodology; as such, the difference in values may be due to rounding (Section 3.4.2).
