Technical Basis
A review of available sources did not identify exposure limits or acute toxicity data for cadmium nitrite. Instead, AEGLs for a similar chemical, cadmium (CASRN: 7440-43-9) were evaluated for TEEL development. The AEGLs were selected as the TEELs due to their priority among the emergency exposure limits (Section 1).
• TEEL-1 = AEGL-1 (cadmium, CASRN: 7440-43-9)
• TEEL-2 = AEGL-2 (cadmium, CASRN: 7440-43-9)
• TEEL-3 = AEGL-3 (cadmium, CASRN: 7440-43-9)
This review generated TEEL values inconsistent with Rev. 29A. The Rev. 29A and current sources are the same, cadmium AEGLs; however, the Rev. 29A values were molecular weight adjusted. The current values are not adjusted, in accordance with Section 3.2.2.
