No toxicity data were found for ceric ammonium nitrate. Potential health hazard was evaluated from several recent SDS, where a rat oral (>300-2000 mg/kg) and dermal (>2000 mg/kg) LD50 was frequently cited. Given the uncertainty of these sources, an estimated HHR was evaluated instead of using these as TEEL bases. To evaluate an estimated HHR, GHS and OSHA hazard statements were considered, and the animal toxicity used to determine appropriate magnitude. Based on these considerations and conservatism, an HHR=3 was selected as a TEEL-3 basis (see Section 3.4.5). TEEL-2 and TEEL-1 values were calculated from this TEEL-3 value, according to guidance in Table 3.5.
