Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified the following: toxicity data, LD50, administered orally to three different species (rat, mouse, hamster) was found. The rat data is the most preferable among the species considered and is the basis resulted in a TEEL-3. TEEL-2 and TEEL-1 were calculated from this TEEL-3 value, according to guidance in the Table 3.5.

• TEEL-2: TEEL-3/6
• TEEL-3: Rat oral LD50 (700 mg/kg)
This review generated TEEL values that are inconsistent and more conservative than those in Rev. 29A. The Rev. 29A TEELs used the same methodology but did not have the same conservatism. A higher toxicity concentration reference was not found with the same species/route.
