Technical Basis
A review of available sources identified the following: TLV-TWA and IDLH exposure limits. These data sources were selected according to the hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. The revised and original IDLH values were both evaluated; considering that the original IDLH was developed based on a similar chemical, whereas the revised considered sub-chronic exposures, the original IDLH were selected as the TEEL-3.
TEEL-2 values were calculated according to Table 3.5. The TLV-TWA was selected as the TEEL-1 basis.
• TEEL-1 = TLV-TWA (0.64 mg/m3) x 3
• TEEL-2 =TEEL-3/6
• TEEL-3 =IDLH (1990, 1000 mg/m3)
This review generated TEEL values consistent with those in Rev. 29A.
