A review of available data sources identified the following: LD50 (guinea pig, mouse, rat) toxicity data. Toxicity data were evaluated for their relative preference ranking, with species and route ranked according to the preferences stated in Section 3.3.2 and the data source hierarchy listed in Table 3.1. Although the rat oral LD50 identified in a Fisher SDS is the more preferred species, the mouse oral LD50 toxicity data was referenced numerous times in other SDS and was determined to be a more reliable source due to its complete record in PubChem. As such, it was selected as the TEEL-3 basis. TEEL-2 and TEEL-1 estimates were calculated from the TEEL-3 value, according to guidance in the Table 3.5.

This review generated TEEL values that are more conservative and inconsistent than those published in Rev. 29A. In Rev. 29A the TEEL-3 basis was a rat oral LD50 which is a more preferred species than the selected species of this review, however that mouse toxicity data found during current research was evaluated and determined to be more reliable (Section 3.3.1).
