Technical Basis
Dichloromethane-d2 is the deuterated form of methylene chloride used as an NMR solvent. A review of available sources did not identify acute toxicity data or exposure limits for dichloromethane-d2. Instead, AEGLs for a similar chemical, methylene chloride (CASRN: 75-09-2), were evaluated for TEEL development. The AEGLs were selected as the TEELs due to their priority among the emergency exposure limits (Section 1).
• TEEL-1 = AEGL-1 (methylene chloride, CASRN: 75-09-2)
• TEEL-2 = AEGL-2 (methylene chloride, CASRN: 75-09-2)
• TEEL-3 = AEGL-3 (methylene chloride, CASRN: 75-09-2)
This review generated TEEL values consistent with Rev. 29A*.
