Technical Basis
A review of available sources did not identify exposure limits or acute toxicity data for dichloromethylphenylsilane. Instead, analysts considered that dichloromethylphenylsilane is a chlorosilane and evaluated AEGLs for a similar chemical, diphenyldichlorosilane (Section 3.4.6, CASRN: 80-10-4, Tanimoto coefficient = 0.97). These AEGLs were selected due to their priority among Protective Action Criteria (Section 1).
• PAC-1 = AEGL-1 (diphenyldichlorosilane, CASRN: 80-10-4)
• PAC-2 = AEGL-2 (diphenyldichlorosilane, CASRN: 80-10-4)
• PAC-3 = AEGL-3 (diphenyldichlorosilane, CASRN: 80-10-4)
This review generated PAC values consistent with Rev. 29A. However, the Rev. 29A TEELs were molecular weight adjusted hydrochloric acid AEGLs (CASRN: 7647-01-0); per Section 3.2.2 weight adjustments are not applied to AEGLs. Instead, the current PACs are AEGLs for a similar chemical, diphenyldichlorosilane, which were developed to account for the molar ratio of dissociated hydrochloric acid from chlorosilanes.
