Professional Bio

Mark Hojnacke is the Director of the Office of Security Policy, within the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Security. Mark has over 35 years of physical security experience as a contractor and Federal employee in the Department of Energy. Mark began his DOE career as a Security Inspector at the Nevada Test Site in 1987 and served in various security positions during his time in Nevada. In 2010, Mark accepted a contractor support position within the Office of Security and became a federal employee in 2014. Mark has led several policy initiatives within the Office of Security, including the integration of security risk management into security guidance in place of strict compliance-based requirements. Mark is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a Security Police officer.
