Steven serves as a Senior Emergency Management Specialist II with United Cleanup Oak Ridge (UCOR) on the Department of Energy Oak Ridge Reservation in east Tennessee. As the Emergency Response Organization and Exercise Coordinator his responsibilities include writing and reviewing emergency plans and procedures and exercise design and conduct. Steven’s emergency services career started in 1974 as a volunteer rescue squad member. He has been involved in hundreds of responses to include active participation in 28 Presidentially Declared Disasters. He has served in a variety of incident command positions, to include serving as the incident commander of a 37-agency hazardous materials response. He is a Master Exercise Practitioner, certified Emergency Management instructor for multiple courses. Steven’s emergency management career followed his 20-plus years as an award-winning television journalist.
