Professional Bio

Steve Walker, from California’s Central Valley, brings over two decades of experience in security and emergency management. Currently serving as a Training Group Leader with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s (LLNL) Security Organization, he leads a training cadre responsible for tactical and physical fitness instruction for security police forces through annual academies and monthly sustainment and leadership training. Prior to LLNL, Steve spent 18 years in commuter railroad operations, where he managed grant writing, exercise planning, and training programs, as well as public information during derailments, emergencies, and mutual aid deployments. Collaborating with regional PIOs and stakeholders, he developed strong partnerships to ensure effective communication and response during critical incidents.
